In school Dmitri Isayev was keen on sports, but chose the violin after all. He studied in the Rimski-Korsakoff musical school. Since being 14 years-old he played violin in Yuri Tomashevsky's "Comedian's Refuge" theatre. Isayev entered the theatre school on the second try.
